Mohammed – “thank you. I hope that others show a fraction of the human kindness and understanding that you have shown me today.”

I wish we had a transcript of Nancy’s call today with our cable provider. We had sixty (60) MPH straight-line winds Sunday evening, and cable/internet was down across a wide portion of North Texas.

It was Mohammed’s first day as a Customer Service Rep (CSR) after having been unemployed for 90 days. People were angry, mean, and some even cursed him.

Nancy was meant to connect with Mohammed. He had lost a great job in IT due to COVID-19. And he and his family are struggling. She was able to celebrate his new job and share with him several assistance programs available to him and his family within his community. He was so grateful.

Glen Campbell wrote a song in 1970 called Try A Little Kindness.

You got to try a little kindness
Yes show a little kindness
Just shine your light for everyone to see
And if you try a little kindness
Then you’ll overlook the blindness
Of narrow-minded people on the narrow-minded streets.

Remember, we never know what someone is going through. Show kindness – always.
